If you’ve visited the RPC Leadership Associates, Inc. website or heard me speak at various presentations you know our vision is about helping our clients Make Leadership a Way of Life. Another way to view the vision is creating sustainable leadership. The book review this month is for a book that is close to home in that I am one of the contributing authors to “A Common Sense Approach to Sustainability – Accelerating Profitability though Aligning your People and Process with the Environment” by Tammy Kohl. The book is a mechanism to make tangible the idea of sustainability to achieve business alignment and increased profits for businesses at all levels.

One of the key reasons I signed on to contribute to this book is the idea of taking an idea which many view as esoteric and “not their issue” and boils it down to very clear and executable ideas for businesses both large and small. Including both case studies and business models within the text to illustrate real world examples of sustainable leadership as well as thought-provoking questions at the end of each chapter, the book takes the reader through the initial stages of recognition to the latter stages of execution and operationalization in a straightforward manner with ideas you can apply to your business immediately.
