Well, I've already quoted Jim Collins once in this issue so I might as well stay with Mr. Collins in this segment as well. Jim Collins' most recent book How the Might Fall and Why Some Companies Never Give In is yet another study in why companies excel or downright fail based on many of the Leadership issues raised in this and previous articles. The book stems from a leadership conference at West Point in which the question was "Is America renewing its greatness or is America dangerously on the cusp of falling from great to good"

What I specifically like about this read was the constant reference to the choices of leadership following success. Whether leadership continues to challenge the status quo or it takes its success and falls into the hubris spell that can come with initial success, the outcome is a result of choices making decline or future success predictable. Leadership for Life means making the right choices.
